On August 16th, I had the great fun of photographing Nicholas and Juliana’s wedding. I met Nick just two weeks before the wedding, and I didn’t meet Juliana until the day of, but they were both so encouraging and welcoming to me that I felt very comfortable and at-home around them as I photographed their special day.
There were some challenges that made shooting more difficult than usual— I was using Nick’s mother’s Canon with a 70-200mm for the first time ever because the church had tight restrictions on where I could shoot, which means out of pure newness I lost a few shots that I really would’ve killed to get! But in the end, I was happy with the work I did and and happy that I got to spend my day in Edmond, Oklahoma with these two.
I’m not religious at all, but I was touched by the way Nicholas and Juliana seemed like…pardon the cliche…a match made in Heaven. You can tell they have a great time together, that they love each other wholly. They each have a great sense of humor that compliments the other’s, and Nick’s reverence for his new wife was beautiful to witness. I can’t wait to see where they go together. Thank you to Nick’s mother, Rebecca, for being so kind and communicative with me throughout the process! I loved getting to play with the 70-200mm, too!
